Jan 2006

By Liz Hall

Community Council meetings were held on 28 November and 19 December 2005 and 30 January 2006.

P C Mason attended on 28 November and reported that two men had been arrested in connection with a burglary in Itton. There had been two thefts from a building site at Cobblers Plain and six road accidents due to roadworks and bad weather.

The Community Council agreed to a proposal that approved minutes of their meetings should be put on the internet under the heading “Devauden” but it would be made clear that the title “Devauden” covered five wards.

Mrs Hall applied for funds to assist with a new kitchen for Itton Village Hall.

The constructon of a rear extension to No.1 Croes Bleddyn cottages was approved by the Community and County councils.

Devauden Bus Shelters. The condition of the shelters was discussed and it was agreed to ask the County Council how much replacement shelters would cost and whether they would provide them.

At the 19 December meeting the Commmunity Council agreed to request “deer” signs on the B4293 from the County. The Community Council also agreed to give £300 to Itton Village Hall towards a new kitchen.

On 30 January 2006 members of the public raised objections to the new gateway at Cottage Farm and the state of Howells Green, Devauden. The retrospective planning application for the new gateway was recommended for refusal to the County Council. Mr Greenwood, our County Councillor, has arranged a meeting with County Council officers to discuss Howells Green.

Accidents to deer on the B4293. If any member of the public sees (or has seen) an accident involving deer on that road, would they please notify Mrs Martin, clerk to the Community Council on 01600 869058.
