The road between St Arvans and Devauden was the location for some dramatic events on 11th July as a TV production company filmed speeding cars and a fight scene for the forthcoming crime thriller “Wolf”.

The filming took all day and required up to 100 people to capture footage which will eventually make up just a couple of minutes of the six-part series.

The road needed to be closed to allow the action to be filmed using a specialised vehicle with  a U-crane/articulating robotic arm which tracked the cars as they drove past the entrance to Chepstow Park Wood and the turning to The Cot. Diversions were in place throughout the day and Iestyn Hampson–Jones, Location Manager for Cardiff based company Hartswood Films, thanked residents for their patience. Iestyn also commented on the warm welcome the film crew had received from locals especially after they found an issue with the road surface at St Arvans.

The story for Wolf is based on the Jack Caffey novels by Mo Hayder and will be aired on BBC One.
