Church

  • You are invited to take part in a community recipe book, which is being produced to raise funds for much-needed maintenance work at St James Church, Devauden.  The Friends of St James would love you to submit your favourite recipe for possible inclusion into a recipe book that will be available to buy later this year.

  • Repairs are needed to the roof, porch, windows and woodwork of Devauden Church and volunteers are being sought to help with fundraising, grant applications etc.

  • St James, Devauden is in a group of five parishes which includes the parishes of St Arvans, Penterry, Itton and Kilgwrrwg. Two services are usually held each month in Devauden either in St James itself or in Village Hall.

  • The Friends of St James Devauden would like to thank everyone who filled in a questionnaire about the church building.  A total 63 questionnaires were completed which is a very high return for a survey of this type. The full breakdown of results is available using the link below.

  • The names of the men from Devauden who died in WWII are recorded on a memorial window in the church.  Although it was not possible to open the church for the VE Day 75th Anniversary Peter Kenington produced some posters for the outside of the building.
