Natural Resources Wales is holding drop- in events to talk to people who live near to, or regularly visit the Northern and Southern Wye woodlands in Monmouthshire, to find out more information about how they manage the woodlands and what forestry activities are planned for the coming months which may affect visitors to our woodlands.
The drop in event for the Southern Wye woodlands will be held on Wednesday 15 June from 2pm to 7pm at Devauden Village Hall.
Teams from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) who manage the woodlands, will be on hand during the session to take questions and discuss the upcoming work which will include information on the felling operations taking place to remove approximately 133 ha of trees that have been infected with larch disease. They will also share information about NRW’s work to tackle Himalayan Balsam, an invasive non-native species which out competes native plants that are more desirable for pollinating invertebrate such as bees and butterflies. Staff will also be available to talk to residents about the Wye Valley Forest Resource Plans, which set out the future vision for the woodland and answer any questions they may have.
You can find more information about the upcoming forestry work at the Natural Resources Wales website.
