The Friends of St James, Devauden group is celebrating harvest this month and will be collecting for the Chepstow Food Bank.
The food bank has particularly requested the following:
- UHT FRUIT JUICES
- TINNED POTATOES
- TINNED TOMATOES
- BISCUITS
- COFFEE
They have enough beans and soup at the moment, but still welcome other long-life groceries. Their website also mentions things people don't always think to donate - tin openers, baby food, disposable nappies, loo roll, personal hygiene items (toothbrushes & paste, soap, shower gel etc) . If you aren't able to get to the service, but are happy to donate some money, you can donate online to The Trussell Trust at https://www.trusselltrust.org/
There are also collection points for donations at Chepstow Library, Tescos Chepstow, Chepstow Baptist Church betweem noon at 2 on Fridays, or at the foodbank itself on Wednesdays, 10am to 1pm, so if you can't get to the service at St James Church, Devauden on Sunday 9th October , but have items to donate there are plenty of ways of doing just that!
