Thanks to everyone who took part in the Mason Arms Beer Preferences Survey. Over 80 people completed the questionnaire and made suggestions for the range of drinks that could be available when the pub reopens. The results and comments will be passed on to the new owners and, although it won’t be possible to include everyone’s favourites, the list will help them to choose the final selection.

The most popular ale amongst those on the shortlist was Butty Bach with around 60% of drinkers who expressed a preference opting for it. Kingstone Gold, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, Wye Valley HPA and Cwtch from Tiny Rebel were also popular choices. Several people stated that Theakstone Old Peculiar was their favourite pint and Fuller’s London Pride also has its fans.

Thatcher’s Gold was by far and away the most common choice from cider drinkers with Stowford Press and Henry Weston’s also proving popular in this category. Robinson’s, Thatcher’s Haze and Inches cider weren’t on the list but many of you suggested these in the comments section.

There was much less of a consensus among lager drinks though Peroni was the clear champion with Asahi and Cruzcampo both having a strong following. Judging by the comments it looks as if there are some serious lager connoisseurs in the area and a few of them picked Pilsner Urquell.

Thanks again for taking part. See you for a pint soon.
