A group of local residents has recently formed the Llanishen Area Public Rights of Way Project. The group aims to ensure that the public right of way network in and around the village of Llanishen is clearly signposted, accessible and well maintained for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to the area.
A small steering team of residents has been set up with the purpose of defining the objectives of the project; identifying the requirements (e.g., training, equipment) and guiding the overall project.
The first step will be to define the boundaries of the project, conduct a survey of the public rights of way and identify the works required to bring them up to an acceptable standard and put in place the arrangements necessary to enable works to proceed.
The second step will be to implement a prioritised programme of work to ensure that the public rights of way network is brought up to a suitable standard and thereafter maintained in a good condition.
Tom Arnold, of Monmouthshire County Council will be providing initial training on Monday 11th December 12.45 at the Village Hall.
Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the group or participating in its activities is invited to contact them via this website.
