Covert speed monitoring conducted in Devauden during February reveals that most drivers are ignoring the new limit.

The convert monitor was installed on a lamp post in Devauden and recorded the speed of all vehicles in both directions.  Analysis of the data over seven days between 13 and 19 February 2023 showed a total of 21075 vehicles passed the monitor with an average speed of 27mph.

The 85th percentile speed of these vehicles was 35mph. This statistic tells us the speed at which 85% of vehicles would travel at or below in free-flowing traffic.

As a result of this monitoring the data has been forwarded to the GoSafe camera partnership for consideration of adopting the road as a ‘Go Safe’ enforcement location.
