The Masons Arms is set to reopen in 2026. The new owners have started renovations and the pub could be open within the next few months.

The purchase of The Masons Arms was completed in early December work on the interior of the building began immediately.  As the pub has been standing empty for over twelve years and a building project at the back of the pub was abandoned shortly after it closed, there is plenty to do before it can be reopened but the new owners, John and Christine Straw, are hopeful that the first phase can be completed by Easter 2026.

John and Christine also own The Carpenters Arms in Shirenewton and having successfully managed to bring that pub make to life they are undaunted by the task ahead of them at The Masons. Their current aim is to carry out the repairs that are necessary for the pub to reopen as soon as possible rather than a complete refurbishment of the entire property.
