The Devauden Village Social will be held on Saturday 16 November from 4pm to 11.30pm at the Hood Memorial Hall. Free entry.

The Devauden Village Social is a new event bringing Devauden and its surrounding communities together to listen to some local musicians/bands, to drink some local brews and to eat some "not so local" food. There are no tickets and no admission fee. 

Bring your family, friends and neighbours or come on your own – stay for 10 minutes or stay all day. All very welcome!

Bar

Try some fine real ales from Kingstone, Zulu Alpha and On Point breweries plus traditional cider from Apple County Cider, at very competitive (local) prices. There will also be a bar offering wines and spirits, soft drinks and free squash for kids.

Music & African Drum Workshop

  • 5pm -African Drumming Workshop
  • 6pm -African Drumming Show!
  • 6.30pm - Partners in Thyme
  • 8pm - Borderlines
  • 10pm to close-DJ Funkenstein

The African Drumming workshop is exciting and something new to try for all ages and skill. All you need is enthusiasm! Just be at the hall before 5pm. With a drumming show planned for 6pm don't just come along to the Social, be part of it!

Food

Ceylon and Beyond (www.ceytonandbeyond.co.uk) will be offering their BBQ menu; burgers, hot dogs and grilled root vegetables but with their own amazing Sri Lankan twist; vegetarian and vegan options available.

Even if you are not joining in with the Social please feel free to come along and make use of this fantastic take away offering, which will be on the hardstanding area at the back of the hall.

Chatting Table

There will be plenty of seating both inside and undercover outside the hall including our Chatting Table. Sit at the Chatting Table, meet some new people and chat about things such as the weather, how busy the B4293 is these days and wouldn't it be nice if the pub re-opened.

Kids Room

The Ferard Room will be available as a play space for children, with a few games and toys provided. Please note this room is unsupervised so please ensure your children are supervised in the Kids Room. Free squash for kids will be available.

Parking

Parking is in the Cae Ni field, access is via the side lane. The field is unlit and unsupervised so you might need a torch as well as your wet lies. Parking in the hall grounds will be strictly for holders of Blue Badge Permits. There will be a drop off option for those with very small children, with limited mobility (but without a Blue Badge) and for musicians' equipment but cars will still have to be parked in Cae
