Information

Devauden Cross-Country Races has been held every year since 2012.   Since 2016, in recognition of its growing status and popularity, it became an affiliated event with Welsh Athletics through the Spirit of Monmouth Running Club.

The races take place around the 100 acres of Chepstow Park Woods, starting and finishing in the grounds of Devauden Hood Memorial Hall which sits on the northern edge.

As the routes are multi-terrain, all course distances stated are approximate. This is in accordance with Welsh Athletics/UKA regulations for licenced multi-terrain events.

All the routes are entirely off-road on firm gravel but occasionally rutted forestry tracks, soil footpaths and, in the gulley leading to the woods, a steep rocky path.

The ground can be uneven with trip hazards such as rocks and tree roots, and overhead branches.

In wet weather the paths can be muddy and slippery with puddles. Off road shoes are recommended particularly when wet.

The race starts from and finishes at the village hall in Devauden (NP16 6PQ) which is located ten minutes from Chepstow and the first Severn Bridge.
