Brian Phillips, landlord of The Masons Arms in Devauden, recently celebrated his 60th birthday. Naturally, he choose the Masons as the venue and the pub was packed with regulars, friends and family who came along to join him on this great occasion.

It was a fantastic evening with excellent live music from former Devauden resident Jack Castle. Jack travelled all the way from Pembrokeshire to play the surprise gig at the Masons and quite literally raised the roof (you may have noticed that the repairs are still being carried out). Fellow landlord Steve Lacey of the Tan House in Shirenewton also put in a star performance and gave Jack a welcome break.

"It really was a night to remember" said Brian. "Thanks to everyone who was there. It was very special."
