St James, Devauden is in a group of five parishes which includes the parishes of St Arvans, Penterry, Itton and Kilgwrrwg. Two services are usually held each month in Devauden either in St James itself or in Village Hall.

Services are held in church, and an all-age Café Service are sometimes held in the village hall.  Details of the forthcoming services are published on the main noticeboard of this website.

The church produces a regular monthly email which gives details of the services, and other events. If you would like to receive this, please drop a line to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and Gay will include you in their list. The parish magazine 'Fiveways' is published 10 times a year and gives details of all the services in this group of parishes. You can take out an annual subscription, or purchase a copy at the village shop.

If you need to contact the vicar, you can do so on email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or by phone – 01291 622064. His usual “day off” is Saturday. If you, or someone you know would like to be added to the list of people to be prayed for, or would like to take communion at home because you can’t get to church, or need to arrange a christening or a dedication or a thanksgiving service, find out about confirmation classes, or book a wedding or a funeral do contact Father Michael.

The Vestry Meeting (the church equivalent of an AGM) is usually held in April (or, occasionally, May!) each year – there will be a poster in the shop nearer the time giving details. Everyone is welcome to come along and hear about the things that have been happening during the year. If you are on the Church’s Electoral Register, you are also able to vote to elect the Churchwardens.
