Two evacuees who spend part of WWII in Devauden have contacted us with their story.

I was an evacuee from Folkestone, Kent and was cared for by Phoebe Davenport during the war years and was housed in the council houses close to the village green in Devauden. My friend and neighbour was Iris, her brother Allen used to sing in the village. Stuart Steadman my friend lived next door. My sister Pauline Lewis lived on a farm at New Inn and we lived at these addresses for four years during the the war. Mr Griffiths was the headmaster at the local school, and lived with us for four years."
My best wishes to all.
Love from Jean and Pauline
