Monmouthshire County Council is currently preparing the Deposit version of the Local Development Plan, which it intends to issue for consultation in Spring, 2011.  This is likely to include a proposal for additional housing in Devauden.  Four candidate sites for this housing were previously suggested and many local residents participated in the council's consultation on Proposed Rural Housing Allocations which was carried out in the summer of 2010.  Following this consultation some potential changes were identified that the council's planners consider to represent better options as preferred sites. At the meeting of the Council on 18 November 2010, it was agreed to carry out a further consultation on these sites including one in Devauden.  This new consultation is being carried out from 7 January to 4 February 2011. Any comments, therefore, should be sent to the Development Plans Team at the address below by 4.30pm, Friday 4 February 2011.

The new site in Devauden is to the south of Well Lane (see map below) has been put forward by the land owner. The site has previously been refused planning permission.
