Candidate Sites for Housing in Devauden

Monmouthshire County Council has recently published it's Preferred Strategy document which is one of the steps in the process of consultation on their Local Development Plan. The Preferred Strategy includes a list of "Candidate Sites" which are parcels of land that could be developed for housing.

The list includes three sites in Devauden these are:

CS/0024	"Land west of B4295 and north of Devauden"	This is on the left hand side as you leave Devauden towards Monmouth. It is the field between Churchfields and Tredean Lodge.	map
CS/0032	"Land to the rear of Devauden Hall"	This is the field adjacent to the hall grounds and is on the left as you go up the footpath from the hall towards the woods.	map
CS/0064	"Land south and east of Beaufort House, Devauden"	This is the first field on the right as you go down Coal Lane i.e. the land between Coal Lane and Trap Farm.	map

There has previously been local opposition to proposed new housing development in and around Devauden. Some people have voiced concerns about the suitability of these sites and about whether Devauden has the infrastructure to cope with additional housing.

The Council is inviting feedback about these proposals from members of the public. If you would like to comment on them then you can do so online until 17th July using the link below.
